Many people associate the word church with a religious institution, a denomination, or an official organization. In the Bible, however, the Church is none of those things; instead, it is primarily described as a spiritual family (Ephesians 3:15; Mark 3:35). Nor is the Church primarily a local entity; rather, it includes all those who truly belong to Christ—across generations and around the world—functioning as one body with many members and Christ as the Head. While each member differs in gifts, function, and maturity, all share the same Lord, the same Spirit, and the same Faith, uniting them as one.

Members of this spiritual family who live in the same local area are called to live in community—bearing one another’s burdens, encouraging one another, and loving one another. This includes not only personal relationships but also regular gatherings of the whole group to pray, worship, fellowship, and study the Scriptures together. The Bible never instructs groups of believers to separate from the rest of the body of Christ by forming organizations with unique identities, hierarchical structures, or doctrinal stances. The defining characteristic of the true Church is not what sets us apart, but what unites us: our shared faith in Jesus Christ and the love for one another He has placed in each of our hearts (Ephesians 4:4–6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14).

The title of this website—A Gathering of Believers in Christ—reflects this view of the Church and how it should function at the local level. Rather than identifying ourselves by what makes us distinct—be it a doctrinal position, denominational label, or the teachings of a particular leader—we define ourselves by what unites us with the rest of the Church: our status as believers in Christ. The title we use here is not intended to be the name of an organization or group at all; instead, it is simply a description of who we are: believers who share a common faith in Jesus Christ and gather together as brothers and sisters in Him. Our gatherings are not formal, institutional services, nor the official meetings of any structured organization. We simply come together as a family in Christ to worship, pray, study the Scriptures, and build one another up—just as believers have done for generations.

While we choose to emphasize what unites us to the Body of Christ, we understand that not all believers will agree on every doctrine or practice. Just as family members may differ and yet remain one family, within the Body of Christ there are various perspectives and convictions on non-essential matters (Romans 14:1–5; 1 Corinthians 12:12–31).

What Makes Us Different?

While we don’t emphasize differences for the sake of distinction, we recognize that every gathering of believers has its own unique characteristics. Here are a few things that define our approach:

  • We meet in a home – not because we believe house churches are the only biblical way, but because it’s practical, inviting, and free from financial burdens.

  • We function as a family – fostering real relationships rather than running programs or events.

  • We aren't a religious organization – our identity isn’t in a church structure but in Christ alone.

  • We're focused on the Gospel –  we believe the Gospel is the main focus of the Bible and that it applies to every aspect of our lives, not just our initial entry into the Kingdom of God

Humility in Our Convictions

Like all believers, we have convictions about how we should gather and live out our faith. However, we do not believe our way of doing things makes us superior to others. We recognize that every believer in Christ stands by grace alone, and whatever understanding we have comes from God, rather than ourselves (1 Corinthians 4:7).

For this reason, we do not boast in our knowledge, structure, or methods. We boast only in what God has done for us by His grace (Jeremiah 9:23-24; 1 Corinthians 1:31, 3:5-8).  As well, we believe that all true believers are partakers of that same grace, and we value the contributions of every member of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:20-25, Romans 12:4-8).

You're Welcome to Join Us

Our gathering is open to all who desire to seek Christ. Whether you’re looking for a place to actively participate or simply want to listen, learn, and grow in your faith, you are welcome here. There is no pressure to speak, pray aloud, or contribute in any way—you are free to engage at your own pace.

This website exists simply to let our brothers and sisters in Christ in the local area know that we have a gathering they are welcome to be a part of—whether for a one-time visit or ongoing fellowship.

Interested in Visiting?

Because we meet in homes rather than a public building, we do not post our location online. However, we welcome anyone who is genuinely seeking Christ and looking for biblical fellowship.

If you’d like to visit, please contact us first by email, phone, or text. We’ll set up a brief conversation to introduce ourselves, answer any questions, and provide details on how to join us.

For the safety and privacy of our group, we may ask to meet in a public place or on a Zoom call before attending a home gathering. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to connecting with you!
