We believe in seeking and following the leading of the Holy Spirit when we gather, rather than adhering to a rigid routine (Romans 8:14). Each gathering is unique, but certain practices remain central to our time together. These are not rituals but essential aspects of church life that help us grow in faith, strengthen one another, and glorify Christ.
These practices include:
-
Corporate prayer for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom (Matthew 6:9-13, 18:19-20, Acts 4:24-31, 1 Timothy 2:1-3).

-
Prayer for one another, including requests for physical healing and other needs (James 5:14-16, Philippians 4:6).
-
Fellowship, including breaking bread together in remembrance of the body and blood of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
-
Teaching of the apostles' doctrine, including all 66 books of the Bible while remaining centered on the Gospel—the ultimate revelation of God’s Word, given to the apostles and recorded in the New Testament (Acts 2:42, 2 Corinthians 3:12-16, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
-
Singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:18-19, Colossians 3:16).
-
Encouraging one another with testimonies and words of exhortation (1 Thessalonians 5:11, Hebrews 3:13, Hebrews 10:24-25).
-
Edifying one another through the operation of spiritual gifts suited for corporate gatherings (1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 1 Corinthians 14:3-5, 1 Peter 4:10).

A Typical Sunday Gathering
While we remain open to the Holy Spirit’s leading, our meetings typically include:
-
Prayer
-
Worship
-
Fellowship and shared meals
-
Opportunities for everyone to share testimonies and encourage one another
-
Bible study, including verse-by-verse teaching and open discussion
These gatherings usually take place on Sundays at 10 a.m. in the home of some of our members in Grand Island, though at times, we also meet in other members’ homes or local parks. Our gatherings usually conclude by noon, though sometimes they continue until 12:30 p.m. depending on discussion and fellowship.
While we encourage participation, there is no pressure to speak, pray aloud, or contribute in any way. Some people love to share, while others prefer to listen and observe—both are completely fine! You are welcome to engage at your own pace and in a way that feels comfortable to you.

Children at the Gatherings
Children worship with the adults before transitioning to a Bible lesson in a separate area (usually a finished basement or, if the weather allows, outside). Once their lesson is complete, they are free to play while the adults continue their time together. Babies and toddlers typically stay with their parents in the living room, where baby gates are used to help parents remain engaged while keeping their children close.
Currently, our group includes children ranging from toddlers to 10-year-olds—and another one on the way!
